There are some parts of this world that are closer to heaven 'Paradiso', and those closer to hell 'Infernos'. The army of heaven and the army of hell are in a stare down, trying to gain ground on one another, but they must do combat in a realm known as pergatory 'pergatorio'. Which happens to be on earth, where a group of incarnated spirits either from Paradiso or Infernos have come back in a human form, witches as they're called, try to at least keep a balance between the two opposing forces, to keep the world from slipping to far in one direction.
Witches to do combat can switch between the physical realm and pergatory, as well as tap into their former powers which all depend on their spirit. For these powers humans launched witch hunters and well it was salem all over again. Magic is real, and spirits are the source of power for performing these acts. But in thise era science and technology has begun expanding rapidly, forcing the witches to go underground in secret organization to continue their work. However not all witches are good, forgive the refernce but their are wicked witches, with their own secret organizations.
Their are five great nations but we'll only focus on one (For informations about the rest pm me). A Fuhrer driven nation, Mythica stands acrost the ocean from the other four nations. Its the leader in the industrial revolution going on around the world (steampunk technology level). Their economy is founded by the Pence (currency), and hard labor. The Sabbath Academy is a well established educational facility, and the formost renown witch organization in Mythica, a few select members of the staff keep a carefull eye on the students waiting for the ones brimming with the energies of a trapped incarnated spirit.
Spirits come in all shapes and sizes, as do the magics availiable to the witches. Magical and Spirit Elements. Fire Water Earth Energy/Electricity Air
Lesser spells come from verbal, or mental commands, grander spells come from formulae writen or inscribed on items, all of these spells have the same elemental restriction as spirits, and can be canceled out if a equal or greater magical force opposes it.
Ether Stone- A strange material that dissapeares in Pergaterio allowing the witches to create secret passages that only they can pass through.

Class had already started by the time Profesor Birstuex stepped in. Hair slightly messing, hands in his pockets, a tired look in his eyes.
"Good news children." He says in a low husky voice that carried throughout the room. "Most of you failed the test...oh wait that's not good news, what was I thinking...."
He rubs the bridge of his nose inhaling sharply.
"Alright, since I have to cover early Greek arts I'll do everyone in here a favor since I haven't really though of a plan for today anyway, we're going over it......again."
The class drudged on slowly, hearing exactly what they'd heard before. Finaly the bell rang, Birstuex sits down in his chair with a heavy thud. "Goodbye all....except you miss Warren. Could you stay after, I have something to discuss with you."
He picks up a paper from his desk, waiting for everyone to leave.
"You did very well on your test, a high A. I'm proud of you most of these kids just take my class because they think it'll be a easy grade." He broad, taught frame leaning back in the chair laying the paper before her, it was a 98, only on question missed. But there where no check marks on the paper.

"Thanks." Elysia said. She shifted her shoulder bag so that it rested more comfortably against her neck. A few slow moving students glared at her while they walked away. She pretended not to notice.
She reached over to the paper. "What did I miss?" She asked flipping through the test.

"On the paper...Nothing." He says playing with a pen.
As the last of the students left the large angled classroom got scilent. College profesors had authority over their classrooms, and sometimes they could just be a ass about it.

Her lips pressed into a thin line. "What does that mean?" She asked.
Her nails tapped on the desk.

"Nothing to it, I just didn't feel it was quite....one hundred percent."
He says pulling a pair fo glasses from his jacket and putting them on. He looks her dead in the eye with a coy grin. "It's not a problem is it?"

Her eyes narrowed. "Actually it is." She said.
Her hands slammed down on the desk. "Why are you doing this? It's multiple choice, if I didn't get anything wrong then why are you marking off points?" She asked. In her head she knew she ought to breath, take a step back from the situation, relax and then reason. Her instinct however was giving her a whole different message.
Elysia slapped him across the face. "Your a real ass."

The glasses flew from his face, then suddenly stopped. The end of his pen pointed at them. With a small chuckle he moves the pen, the glasses following the pens movment. The glasses slowly drift through the air before landing on the desk.
"Thank you Miss Warren." He says looking at her again. "The fact is you did make a perfect score on that test, and I have writen it down in my books as such."
He stands and walks around the table to her, moving the pen quickly, raising the glasses to his face without touching them.
"We've had our eye on you for a while now, and it seems that only when you're tempers up that little charm of yours starts to shutter letting just enough of your power through to be detected." He says smiling.

She looked at him confused. Her open palm fell to her side. "What are you talking about?"
Elysia was beginning to think her Professor was nuts. She frowned and turned toward the door. "Whatever, just try not to go off your meds again."

The door closes suddenly.
"I understand you have conflicting feelings on this. You probably think I'm crazy or insane. We all went through that, it's not every day you're told that angels and demons wage war around us, and that you're one of the select few chosen to keep the world in check while they do." His voice seemed to be coming from right behind her, before he seemed to materialize in front of the door.
"It took me a while to convince the rest of them that you where one of us, they wanted to drop you from our watch, but I've seen you get angry, when your power leeks through whatever's holding it back." He takes his glasses off, before extending his hand to her. "If you don't believe me then let me show you. What's the harm in that?"

Her frown deepened into a scowl. "Fine. One step out of line and your dead." She said reluctantly taking his hand.
He had seriously gone off the deep end. Either that or she was seeing things. It was possible, perhaps, that his mysterious tricks were all just fake. Yet she couldn't help but feel that there was some truth in all this.

His figure is surrounded in a violet aura, then he starts to dissapeare again. A violent jerk pulls Elysia forward hard enough to knock the book bag from her grip and send it to the floor. The bag bounce slightly before seeming to stop in the air.
As the world came into focus with it's still life background, it's easily noticable that the rofesors clothing had changed. A long flowing black coat, red shirt underneath, matching all black and red apperal. He adjusts the fadora atop his head, as well as the gleening black scabard holding the blade to his side.
"You stand right now in a altered state, a realm known a pergatorio." He says pacing around her, looking at her clothing seeing at hadn't changed. "A place where time slows to a crawl, and your spirits form is revealed. You however havn't changed meaning you have yet to release your spirit. Allow me to help you with that bit."
He says walking around behind her. "If you'll follow me." He opens a stone door in the wall beside the chalkboard that had never been there before. It led to a staircase down bellow the academy. With a flip of his wrist a small ball of light appeares in the palm of his hand illuminating the staircase.

"Go on ask away I'm sure you have many questions." He says as they reach a second door at the bottom of the stairs. He swings the door open revealing a long labyrnth of hallways and door surounding a large pit that seemed to fall endlessly into oblivion. The stone walls where a dark brownish color, carved into intricate desgins.
They stood at the edge of the pit as if waiting for something. There was a gate build into the waste high wall around the pit.

"Okay, what's going on here? What war are you talking about? What are you?" She asked.
She looked around, examining the walls.
