History
In times passed the world had become a war-riddled place. People split into tribes, constantly in conflict. Biological warfare, atomic bombs and other harsh combat has left the public in poverty and the rich scrambling for resources. It is true that from war comes technology, and the creating of clones and perfect humans to fight these wars as assigned to the scientists. While many failed one man, Hisdet the Alchemist, managed to create the dimanus. There were only two, almost identical beings one male and the other female. They were designed to be warriors, and they possessed abilities beyond that of any human – namely the manipulation of the elements. The male had the power to manipulate fire and earth, and possessed amazing power over metals, has a close connections with nature, and physical transformations. The female manipulated water and air, with power over weather and healing, and a connection to life forms such as animals and plants.
While the warmongers would pay any price to have these beings on their side the dimanus have ideas of their own. They did not want to fight for any religion or dictator or way of life, instead they chose to bring about balance to the world. The dimanus, against the wishes of their creator wished to end the ongoing wars. They did well at first, the male was manipulative and the female diplomatic – together they quelled the hate between people and rebuilt many lives. The years went by and the male felt unfulfilled and hungered for the spoils war brought. The twins fought and eventually he killed his female companion. Afterward he too disappeared.
Half a millennium has passed since then and the earth has changed, in a time where what was once land has expanded into ocean and plague has striped the world’s population by about half. Governments have collapsed and technological advances have come to a startling halt. From a divided world has risen violence, people fighting for land and in turn power. Corrupt landlords work poor farmers and servants to the bone while their militaries fight one another.
Most of these landlords have served one man who calls himself Emperor Sawar for almost a century. His personal guard is rumored to not be human at all, although if you were to see them chances are no one would see you again. He has cleared whole villages of people in search of the strongest humans, killing the crippled or weak. What he uses them for is not known for sure, most say it is to work in the mines while others claim it is for darker purposes like alchemy experiments or scientific mutations. Behind all the rumors, propaganda and legends of their Emperor there is truth. The high taxes and gross mistreatment of people has led to an insurrection, these rebels are skilled but few due to the fear he has instilled into the public.
Mystic Jewels
Akasha Crystal – A fabled ‘crystal’ made of the positive properties of solidified aether, the eternal substance from which the cosmos are created from (the stars, light, mater planets, ect.) and the source from which the soul stems from. If one were to have a crystal they would be able to channel the fifth element aether. It is thought to be the key to eternal youth and wisdom. This crystal is created by the combination of the purified four base elements.
Void Crystal - A fabled ‘crystal’ made of the negative properties of solidified aether, the eternal substance from which the cosmos are created from (dark mater, space, void, ect.) and the source from which time stems from. If one were to have a crystal they would be able to channel the fifth element aether. It is thought to be the key to eternal life and power. This crystal is created by the combination of the corrupted four base elements.
When combined these ‘crystals’ create what Alchemists often refer to it as the Philosopher’s Stone, or the piece of the alchemic puzzle that can break the bonds of equivalent exchange. To posses such immense power would give one the status of God.
The Classes
Warriors:
Emperors Personal Guard - The highest class of warriors, they are in the loyal service of the emperor. They are extremely skilled fighters, and fearsome beings.
Provincial Armies - The personal armies of the Notables, they are loyal to their Emperor before the Nobles but follow orders from them. Basically they are in change of keeping order in the provinces. Catching rebels and occasionally rounding up other trouble makers and sending them either to their death or to the mines.
Notables (Lord/Lady): These lords serve Emperor Sawar directly, they rule over one or two villages which they collect taxes from. They are only allowed to expand their armies with the approval of the Emperor and must give 60% of the tax they collect to the Emperor.
Scientists: There are only about 100 of them and they all call themselves Alchemists. About 99% of these Alchemist's work for the Emperor himself, simply because he's the only one who can provide the literature and material's needed to practice their art there are few who work in secret against the Empire. The greatest Alchemist's need only a transmutation symbols and material to transform matter.
Priests/Priestess: They preach only what is approved by the Emperor, from a book the Holy Enlightenments, praising the Emperor as the chosen one. They don’t do much talking about God, they are mostly in charge of the education of the young.
Servants: They work for the Notables and Priest classes, basically they are their assistants.
Gifted: There are people born with a natural affinity to the elements, these people are able to tap into the supernatural. They are few in number but are called the Gifted because... well they're gifted. You are gifted from birth, it is usually genetic (often it skips generations) but by simply being born more "spiritual" or sensitive to the supernatural the gift can be developed.
Chimera (fire) – Not much is known about the chimera. They make up the Emperors Personal Guard, and have the ability to manipulate flames. They are not very common in villages since they are "breed" to be in the Guard.
Scryer (water) – These people feel a closeness with the element water. They are able to sense change, or see glimpses of the future or past. Usually they need a scrying pool, or some water to gaze into to have these visions but the talented can call upon their vision at any time. They are also have limited manipulation of their element in its liquid form.
Vayu (air) – These people are associated with air. They are agile and flexible people. Those who are more skilled are healers, and can cure bodily injuries and in some cases reverse poisoning.
Terra (earth) – Usually built sturdily, they are physically strong and durable. They are not very suceptable to injury or disease. The more experienced are skilled metal workers and can manipulate metal to a certain degree.
Farmers: They make up most of the population. They are the peasants, who live and work in the villages and the fields.
Craftsman: They create things, like weapons (from guns to knives), pottery, cutlery, glass, farm equipment, vehicles (for the rich) ect. Or they fix things. Most people know how to make their own clothes, build small homes and such.

Important Places
Zeran: The only land that is not part of Sawar's Empire is the desert and the inhabitants of Zeran. They live in the dry hills and deserts of the far east, they live in small scattered settlements. They aren't fighters but spiritual people, they live simple lives and are very hard to reach unless you know how to navigate the terrain. Without a Zeranian to lead you through the desert your as good as dead. It is a barely habitable place, which is why they exist fairly undisturbed by the Empire.
West Ocean/Cross Islands: One of the four main oceans (all named after their directions) it is filled with pirates who make port on one of the 5 clustered Cross Islands.
Also outside of the class system are the rebels, it is unknown if they are a unified group or if there are few scattered groups.
(You need my permission to be anything above a servant or a Zeranian/rebel)
