"Oww." She said stopping to look at her calf.
They slowed down and turned to her, to see what was wrong.
"I think something bit me." Akiva said swatting at the air, she looked around for the culprit but instead found a small piece of metal caught in the hem of her pants. "What's this?" She asked picking it up, she placed it in the palm of her hand and examined it.

"It's hard to tell what kind of metal in such little light, please may I see it?"Hazen asks holding out his hand.

"Sure." She said dropping it into his palm.
Izumi and Wolf, both turned to see what it was. Akyra already had a vague idea of what it was and she hopped that she was wrong.

Hazen looks it over carefully, running it over his finger tips, and even smelling it.
"Its.....lead....but it has a heavy sulfur smell to it....."He says holding the lead peice back out to Akiva.

"A bullet?" Izumi asked. She knelled to the ground and began her search, after a few moments she had found two more. "Wolf, these are their bullets." She said rolling one in-between her thumb and her index finger.
"Whose? Your friends?" Akiva asked hopefully.
"Yes, I made them." She said handing one to Wolf.
"I bet you it was Alex who fired them. damn kid wasting ammo all the time, he probably got spooked by a rabbit or something." He grunted, placing them in his pocket. "Can you salvage them?"
"Mmmhm." She said, picking up one shell after another.
"It doesn't look like there was a struggle." Akiva said. There were no other signs of battle here.
"No, but it does mean they're ahead of us." Izumi said. "They could have simply been hunting, I hope they didn't run into solders."

"In life, the ambisious wish not for their own plans to succeed but for their oppositions to fail."Hazen says looking over the spent ammuntion.
"This is fine work, what do you use I calm-shell mold?"He inquires.

"Actually, I prefer to use my hands." She said, cracking a crooked grin. One of the symbols on her gloves lit up, transmuting the lead in her hand. They looked like new again, no more dents or scratches except for one which was almost half gone. She tossed that one to the ground and shoved the rest in her pocket. She pushed leaves away examining the ground but found no foot prints, the ground was too dry.
Akiva watched astonished. "Your an alchemist."
She nodded and stood up again. "There's nothing more we can do here, lets go."
"You know something about weapons?" Wolf asked, suddenly interested.

"I know a great detail about the forging and detailing, even the repairing of weapons."Hazen says. "I've forged quite a few in my times of wandering.
He proceeds to walks with his arms folded as he had earlier.
"Any brand, shape, or make it's passed through my hands and I've repaired and at least made one replication of it..."

"Wow that's actually useful." He said clapping him on the back with a surprised smile. It was probably meant to be a compliment...
"What did you do?" Izumi asked Akiva.
"Me? Oh, I was a farmer." She said blushing a little, feeling modest. "There's nothing wrong with that, you don't have to look embarrassed." She said kindly.
"I am... gifted..." She said unsure. That was the first time she had ever used her powers, although she didn't remember most of it. She rubbed the back of her neck with her hand. "But I haven't really used my powers."
"All you need is practice, the art will come to you." She said clenching and un-clenching her hand.

"They're my means of survival so I'd hope my crafts are....usefull..."Hazen's figure goes slightly solem. He'd never actualy crafted a weapon to be used in hate or anger driven combat, due to his breleifs and upbringing he could only forge a weapon for defence, or at least protection.
"All of the bodies talents are innate from birth, you just need to discover them and let instinct take over from there." Hazen says directing the comment to Akiva.

"Thanks for the advice guys." She said her grin turning into a small laugh.
They walked for another hour or so, the conversation idle. Her feet hurt and she was too tired to be talkative. She had spent whole days out in the field yet wandering over such rocky terrain was hard. The forest was thinning, and being replaced with rocks that got bigger the farther they went.
Suddenly Izumi stopped. "We're here." She said walking over to a large, flat expanse of stone.
Akiva looked around confused. "Uh... no offense but this isn't much of a base." She said.
She laughed. "It doesn't look like it from the outside." She crouched there for a moment, and for the first time Akiva noticed the pattern beneath the moss and dirt. Izumi placed her palm in the direct center, the pattern was dully illuminated and a small touch pad was uncovered, she dialed in a few numbers. A portion of the stone slowly slid back revealing a set of stairs. Wolf started to walk down them, and she began to follow.
"Come on if your coming." She called back to Akiva and Hazen.
Akiva took a deep breath and followed. She looked uncomfortable, she didn't like going underground. Or the small stairway, which was at least illuminated, but it made her feel claustrophobic. She gave a small shriek, as she almost slipped down the narrow steps.

Hazens arm wraps itself snuggly around Akivas waste pulling her back, it was a slightly late reaction seeing as she'd already started catching herself but a kind gesture none the less.
He slowly followed behind Akiva, his shoulders and equipment almost unable to fit through the small passage. "You've went to great length to issolate your location...."He says bluntly.

"I'll say." Akiva agreed, her face slightly flushed. She held onto Hazen's arms, keeping them around her waist, as she carefully made her way down the stairs.
"It serves its purpose." She said exiting the narrow staircase into a white room. All Akiva could see was the light coming from the doorway. "It was an old military base, from the Great Wars before the Empire rose."
They exited the hallway into a large room, there were several corridors, each larger than the staircase they came from. Akiva let go of Hazen and exhaled. "This place doesn't look ancient."
"We fixed it up pretty well." Izumi smiled. "If you would follow me, Wolf went to go find the others. I'm sure your hungry too we can fix you something." She said leading them down blue hallway. After a couple turns they reached a kitchen, living-room area.
Akiva realized their base was actually larger than she had expected. "How many people live here?" She asked.
"Well... only thirteen..." She said turning on a coffee maker, although instead of coffee she placed tea bags in the pot, leaving the hot water to steep them.
Akiva sat down on one of the couches. There were a couple in the living-room area, mismatched love-seats, couches, chairs, large funny looking sacks with butt imprints and a large table. On the wall was written three words 'Red Alchemist Rebellion'.
There were many legends about the Red Alchemist. None of them written, because it was against the law, but it still got around by word of mouth. The basic story was that he was a mad scientist that created evil creatures that destroyed all the armies in the Great Wars and eventually their own creator. All the stories at least had that in common, there were other embellishments about vampires and mountains turning to gold, and trees coming alive and other such nonsense that fairy tales are made of.
"Oh, I forgot to ask. Do you two want tea?" Izumi asked.

"Yes, please...."Hazen says taking a seat adjacent to Akiva.
"Might I ask about that phrase apon the wall?"
He motions to the three words on the wall, settling into his seat.

She slouched back in her chair and closed her eyes. "Yeah, I thought he was some made up werewolf alchemist or something..."
"Not exactly." Izumi said pulling two cups out of a cupboard, and pouring hot tea into them. "He was my great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather."
"Wow... that's a lot of greats." Akiva said scratching her head. "I don't suppose your a werewolf then."
Izumi laughed. "No, but I was a notable once. A foul being in its own right." She said, bringing them their tea.
"Well, that would explain why your an alchemist." She said, reaching for her tea. Just being part of a Notable family gave her enough money to be trained as an Alchemist. It would also give her access to knowledge about her lineage. Notables were meticulous about those kinds of family records.
She nodded and sat down across from them at the table. "The Red Alchemist was real, and he didn't turn mountains into gold but he did create creatures that eventually killed him. There is some truth to even the most outrageous of the stories."
